SHOTGUN SHACK

Visiting Graceland and Elvis’ hometown of Tupelo, MS was life changing for me. I was amazed with the life Elvis lived and the heights he achieved coming from such humble beginnings. That inspired me to write "Shotgun Shack”, which is the type of tiny home Elvis was born in.

PRETTY GOOD HAND

Gratitude is the theme here as this song compares the suburban idea of “Keeping up with the Joneses” and that creates a false sense of accomplishment in life. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side…we should be grateful for what we have.

NEVER STOP GROWING

This is a good advice song about the circle of life and how, no matter how big you get, you should always keep growing because there’s so much possibility in the world to be experienced. It captures several seminal moments in life when that advice is surely needed. It all comes full circle when the child has his own child…and the cycle begins again.

EMPTY NEST

This is a song that just hit me when our youngest left for school and suddenly, my wife and I became empty nesters. It’s a look from the parents’ perspective of what we do for our children and the lengths we go to, to ensure their success, while putting our needs on the shelf. Then one day you wake up one day and you don’t know what to do with your life without them.

THE WEATHERMAN

This musical story is about your guardian angel who has seen it all, can predict when something bad is going to happen, and help you get prepared to deal with it. Set within a relationship, it uses multiple weather metaphors throughout the story to connect it to the dynamics of humanity.
